Aida Delaney

As a Class Officer I want to make sure students feel that they are in a positive and fun atmosphere. I want to be able to help students to find what they want to do in high school, and make sure they are enjoying these years as much as they can. I am an ambitious and creative person who is here to create ideas and help other students pursue theirs. Let's keep making Cottonwood a more positive space with the help that you need. So that we can have the time of our lives and look back on high school with happiness.

The reason I want to run for sophomore class is because I can make a difference in the school culture by sharing my excitement for school activities, events and bringing our student body together. I am organized and have proved my reliability through many opportunities in my community. I love Cottonwood and hope to bring more excitement!

I loved being a Freshman SBO this past year and serving the Cwood community! I'm running for SBO again this year because I want everyone to be seen. There are so many of you that feel overlooked or misunderstood. I love our Cwood group and have so many ideas of how to continue to unite us and bring us together. School should be a positive place that we look forward to going to, not every day (we're still teenagers obviously), but most days.

Next year, I'd like to start a ski and snowboarding club! Living at the bottom of the canyon, it would be awesome if we took advantage of the mountains. I love to ski and this was one of the first things I looked for when I came to HS. I was disappointed not to find a ski team or group to go with. I need more friends to hit the slopes with, and this would only add to Cwood- no matter our abilities (I know we'd be all over the place). I know we'd have a ton of fun. The slope club would cost some money, so I'd also like to start a hiking club (FREE). I love the mountains, and it's awesome to escape the everyday stress and enjoy life a little more; even just once or twice a month!

Aside from all that, I love to wake surf, play tennis and golf, I am a runner, I sing, and play performance piano. I'm also a reader, and I love to sleep in on Saturdays (until at least 11). Close the door Mom. I bake (probably a little too often), and I recently picked up guitar. I love it! That's another thing we should start! How fun would that be!?

I'm self-motivated, happy-go-lucky, carefree, yet organized and high achieving. When I set goals, I finish them. Life is so fun and so short. Stop your cravin, vote for Aven. :)

I would like to run for class officer because I feel like if you want to be involved with the school and the students, student gov would be a great opportunity to have. I hope to achieve meting new people, being a great leader, helping the school, help at the sporting events, etc. Some qualifications I have is I work well with other people and I always ask for help for anyone who needs it, I’m always respectful and I listen to what I need to do, when I’m done with my task I always ask if they need me to do anything else. I plan to representing Cottonwood high school by attending to the sporting events and supporting them with positive chants, I also plan to be a good example to the other kids with good and positive manners.

My reason for running is very simple. I wish to improve mine and others lives. My goal is to apply everything I have learned to helping others and learning from them.To do this I have milestones I will to fufill during my year as a class officer to insure my time isn't wasted. I will help at least two person per week. I will fix at least one problem in our community by the time my tenure is over. I will plan and enact atleast most of one assembly or event before the end of my tenure as a class officer. However I won't be conceited with the assembly or event and will allow help and criticism because only a fool refuses these things. I set these milestones to show to you that I don't plan on wasting the trust you place in me. I know I can fufill these tasks because of examples in my life that give me the edge. For example, for the first milestone I am a pretty social person, in all of my classes I have at least 3 people i talk to semi-regularly. If you ask me in person I can give you 3 peoples names and you can ask them yourself. For the second milestone I am a very aware person anytime I walk the halls I am watching and listening to most of the stuff around me. I also meditate 15 minutes daily to solve personal problems so I can transfer the experience from that to our community. For the third milestone I have less experience however, my family goes on vactions every summer and one I planned most of it (location, camping spot, stops needed along the way, etc). I also have a 3.96 cumulative gpa this year which shows my critcal thinking, problem solving, time management, etc.

Melody “mel” Hernandez

I’m Melody Hernandez and I want to be a student body officer because I have had so much love for Cottonwood ever since I can remember. My dad used to come to school here and when I was little he would tell me how great the school is since he used to always be involved. He would always tell me how he wanted me to come here too and be part of something great and now I am. I'm very hard working and responsible. I'm involved with sports here and I love being involved with our school and getting to know people. Being able to bring others together to share a great experience is something I have always loved doing, especially since Cottonwood is so diverse. I think that is the best thing about us honestly, how many different cultures we have that allows us to interact with each other more and be more confident. With that being said while im an officer I would make ways for Cottonwood to hold more events and activities that would bring us together and explore more of our common interests. To me that is something very important that I wish I could see more of in our school. I have so much passion to make sure this happens and so much more that i'm wanting to do!

I want to run class officer to make everyone feel included. Cottonwood is such a diverse school, and sometimes you might feel alone. No matter what, I want students to be able to come to me for anything. If they have an idea, something they need to talk about, or even if they just need a friend, I will always be there. I believe if everyone is included we can create a unity that no school has ever had.

Putting Students First

I am running for sophomore class officer because I’ve lived here all my life. As a student-athlete, I want to keep this school a great place for all the students who go here. What I hope to achieve while in office is a chance to make a difference. I have the experience in leadership from football and community service necessary to be an effective class officer.
