Artist Q&A

What are two Initiatives you will work on as an SBO next year if you are elected?

Christina Paluzzi

My two initiatives would be first to inform students more about the events going on by making posters that are clear on what is happening and when and where. My second initiative is to help showcase more art from the students in Cottonwood and show the talent that they have.

Raquel Cabral

I want to increase student attendance at events through fun but still informational posters and make sure you ALL are repeat offenders to all these events!

What does it mean to you to be a Colt?

Christina Paluzzi

What it means to be a colt is that you are always there to help others and show your colt pride. Being a colt isn't just being a student at Cottonwood it means you are there to support fellow colts and to be loud and proud of the school you go to. Being colt is about being a community and not just a school.

Raquel Cabral

Being a Colt has such a broad meaning, but if I had to sum it up it would just mean being kind and courteous to your peers and having a bit of school pride! :)

What is one way you would develop activities to make everyone at Cottonwood feel welcome and included?

Christina Paluzzi

To make everyone feel welcome and included in activities, invite them to come stand/sit with you and have them join what you're doing. We can listen to the students by having them fill out surveys so that we can use their ideas to make things more inclusive.

Raquel Cabral

We have such a wide range of cultures in Cottonwood and I would want to make sure that each demographic is welcome and included by creating activities where the students who would usually not interact with each other come together and have great experiences.

What advice do you have to stay motivated with academics throughout the year?

Christina Paluzzi

The advice is that you might feel like giving up, but you should always push through because in the end, it is all worth the hard work. I would also say to set goals for yourself; by doing this you will have something to look forward to.

I CANNOT stress this enough get out of the house to study!! I’ve done it a lot recently these past few months and just getting out of the house can help tremendously in the amount of work you get done. You won’t be tempted to "take a quick break" and end up laying down on your bed for the next 2 hours.
