ASC Q&A
What are two Initiatives you will work on as an SBO next year if you are elected?
Caleb Loveless-Delamora
If I am elected for next year I will like to give more music options to the students for next year's dances. I would like to give theme options to the students and let them pick out of the options we give.
Peter Maughan
I would like to work on increasing the support for the various events, arts, and clubs around the school, through student support and stampede club support. I also want to make achievements from clubs, arts, and sports more known around the school, since the important achievements that these people have aren't told to the school very often, and not many people go to the different events other than the major sports.
What does it mean to you to be a Colt?
Caleb Loveless-Delamora
Being a colt means taking care of one another in the school even if it's admin, teachers, or students, a colt always helps around the school. If you are a colt you always represent Cottonwood in any way you can. With all the adversity that Cottonwood faces we always push through and that's why us colts are a strong community.
Peter Maughan
To me, being a colt means being a respectful person and being supportive of my classmates in their high school careers and in their activities outside of school as well.
What is one way you would develop activities to make everyone at Cottonwood feel welcome and included?
Caleb Loveless-Delamora
We could host fun lunch activities that all people would like and to be included in. After school there can be activities as well like games, food, and just hanging out with the community getting to know more of Cottownood and the people.
Peter Maughan
I would try to make the activities cater to as many different cultures as possible, and just make sure that it is something that people will have fun at.
What advice do you have to stay motivated with academics throughout the year?
Caleb Loveless-Delamora
No matter how hard it gets never give up. Once this is all over it will be worth all the work in the long run. The work will pay off. High school only happens once in life use the time you have with it and make the best of it.
Peter Maughan
My advice would be to just get it done. If you stop doing it, it will just stack up and be harder to complete when you eventually need to do it, and you will benefit yourself for the future by both saving time and allowing for a higher academic future.
