What does it mean to you to be a Colt?
Terrence Kalimasi
What it means to me, besides the Black and Yellow color scheme, it's about unity. It's about creating fun and important experiences, relationships, and memories. It's about keeping the future in mind, but to always have fun in the present moment. It's about the hype, the friends, the dreams, the passions, and the grind. To me, being a Colt is always helping each other, supporting each other’s future dreams, and celebrating each other’s victories.
What is one way you would develop activities to make everyone at Cottonwood feel welcome and included?

Try and consult with other students/friends and ask what they would like to see in activities. Many have polls on social media to see what students would like to see. Encourage other students to participate. Show kindness and inclusivity. Don't judge others. Be excited and happy to brighten other people’s days. Even if it is a simple “Hi” in the hallways, it can go long way to make everyone feel welcome and included.
What advice do you have to stay motivated with academics throughout the year?

Set Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound goals that are realistic and attainable. Try and get rid of distractions like social media, video games, etc. to avoid procrastination. If you are feeling stressed, then try your hardest to calm down and focus on what needs to be done; then study and grind. Your grades will speak for themselves.
